January favourites

Can you believe it? We are at the end of January, and 2015 is well and truly underway. It’s that time then to share the items that I have currently been loving throughout January. So what are they then?

•Percy & Reed Wonder balm.

This stuff is amazing, I use it on both myself and my daughter, who has very thick curly and hard to manage hair.
How I use this Is by applying a small amount of product to towel dried hair before blow drying. We are left with smooth frizz free hair, and believe me this is some feat when it comes to my daughters hair. A blow dry will last a good couple of days. What’s even more impressive is that I don’t feel the need to use straighteners on a daily basis, which is much better for the health of my hair. This truly lives up to its name and is most definitely a wonder balm. This is quite pricey at £18, if you look though sites like Look fantastic often have offer codes which will make it a bit more friendly on your pocket.

• Ole Henriksen pure truth youth activating oil.

I cannot begin to express how much I love this product, my skin just loves it and looks bright and glowing.
Sorry, slight over use of the word Love there, that’s just how I feel. The only downside for me is the price point attached to this product. The cheapest I have found it for online is £36.50 from strawberry net.com. I was fortunate to find my 15ml size in a christmas gift set, which made it more affordable. I would however pay full price for this as I like it that much.

If you are looking for something that will help with first signs of ageing I would recommend this as it works. I get a very visible line down the middle of my forehead from too much squinting. (I really should wear my glasses more – yuck!) This minimises the appearance of that line.

Studded biker boots

I have raved so much about these boots in previous blog posts Here so I won’t bore you with a lengthy description. They deserved an inclusion in my monthly favourites though, I just leave it with I LOVE THESE BOOTS!!!

Sam Smith – In the lonely hour

I’m a little bit late to the Sam Smith party, his album I received as a christmas gift. This has been my most played album through out January, and probably will be well into february. I have this playing when I’m cleaning the Kitchen, and tend to sing along, like no ones watching, cringe!

TV –

True Detective

True Detective is a dark crime drama. It is so well done, you have to watch carefully though to follow the story, as it jumps between the present and flashbacks. It can be disturbingly graphic at times, and doesn’t pull any punches. This is not one for watching whilst undertaking other tasks or you will miss critical parts of the story.

If you are into gritty crime dramas then you may find this worth a look.
Mathew McConaughey is almost unrecognisable in his roll as Rusty, he proves that he is a stellar actor and not just cast to please the ladies. We are still watching the first season so no spoilers please.

What have you been loving throughout January, I love this type of post so please leave a link so I can check yours out.

Bye for now, Katy 🙂
