Rimmel Matte BB cream Review – A Beach holiday Must have!

I am a huge fan of BB creams, in fact I would go as far as saying I prefer them to a traditional foundation. That is why I can’t believe it has taken so long for me to try Rimmel’s offering, considering how accessible the brand is. Anyway I have now and I am sold, the next time I need to replace a BB cream I shall be picking this one up. Let me tell you why?

This is available in two shades, light and medium. I tried the lighter of the two and for me this was a great colour match, as I have a pretty fair warm toned complection.

Having said that I do feel anyone who has darker than an olive skin tone will not find even the medium shade suitable, which really is a shame as the formula is so good. Rimmel come on you need to start catering for girls with a darker skin tone!

If you do have a similar skin tone to myself then I recommend checking out this BB cream. Priced at £6.99 it is great value for money and ticks all the right boxes on my check list of what I want out of a BB cream

  • Easy application – blends well with finger tips.
  • Great coverage – evens out complection and covers most imperfections, with little need for concealer.
  • SPF protection – factor 15 which is enough for me in the UK.
  • Mattifying – yup no shine, even without powder.
  • Lasting power – lasted well for everyday use.
  • Doesn’t settle in fine lines, so great for is older girlies as well.
  • Feels light on the skin.

I’m wearing it in the picture above, considering how much my skin had broken out when this picture was taken on holiday I feel my skin is looking quite lovely here, thanks to having a tube of the Rimmel matte BB cream on hand.

What can I say, it’s a great all rounder and Im sad I have actually come to the end of my tube. This was my go on my recent holiday in Cornwall for both beach days and Meals out. Im on a spending ban at the moment so can’t replace it any time soon but when I can I will be do ashing out to my nearest Rimmel stand to get my hands on another tube.

So am I late to the party with this one? How many of you have tried this before? Let me know what you thought in the comments below.

  1. You look so beautiful in that picture Katy. I have such crap skin so I can’t get away with using BB creams. I do have a Sleek CC cream with is a type of concealer cream/foundation and it works ok, but BB’s are a no no for some reason 🙁 Boooo! x
