REN Skincare Kit For Combination Skin – Review

I am constantly on the look out for my holy grail skincare routine. This is made more difficult as I feel I’m at a point in life where I’m trying to balance a focus that is still on managing mild adult acne but also covers my anti-ageing concerns. No easy feat!

The latest skincare range I decided pick up amd try out is the REN clean skincare Combination to Oily skin range. This handy little kit is priced at £15, and gives you the chance to try out a variety of key products without having to part with large amounts of cash.

This kit contains:

  • T-Zone control cleansing gel 25ml.
  • T-Zone Balancing Day Fluid 15ml.
  • Invisible Pores Detox Mask 15ml.

So what are my thoughts on the individual products?

T-Zone control cleansing gel – £16 150ml

I have been using this both as my morning and evening cleanser. Having used similar products from other brands that were too harsh for my skin I have found this to be less harsh on my skin. I have also found I have had no further outbreaks, which is great. This isn’t having any effect on the scaring left over from previous outbreaks though. Still it’s early days yet so this may change.

T-Zone balancing fluid

This has actually changed formular since I purchased this kit. The corresponding product now is actually a gel cream. It is priced at £22 for 50ml. I cannot actually comment on that formular just this one which is light and non greasy. I do feel it’s not quite moisturising enough as the area around my nose is starting to feel dry. Perhaps this is why the formula has been change?

Invisible Pores Detox Mask – £19 50ml

This is really quite a unique product. You apply it to the skin and let it dry. Once dry it comes away with a gentle rub of your fingers, before you rinse with warm water.

I advise doing this over a sink or you are going to end up with flakes of face mask everywhere. I also wouldn’t apply a very thick layer as it takes longer to dry.

Once removed my skin felt super smooth  and looked very glowy and even.

My teenage daughter used the other half of this mask and her skin is looking great at the moment. Usually it can look very greasy but this has helped to calm down the greasiness brilliantly, 2 days on from using it she is still keeping the excess oil at bay.

Used once a week this is a great normalising product for both teen and slightly more mature skin.

All in all this was a great kit to have a taster of the full range. I’m definately going to be picking up the face mask in the future, the cleanser is a maybe as I’m trying to decide whether it is too drying for my skin and the moisturiser is a miss. It just doesn’t provide enough moisturising properties for my needs. Though I do feel It is worth me trying the new formula to see if that works better. So I am considering picking up the most up to date version of this kit next time I need some skincare products. If I do I shall keep you update with how I get on.

Have you tried any of thes products from REN before? What was your experience?
