My April Latest in Beauty Box

I have had my fair share of beauty boxes in the past. I went as far as cancelling them all I’m over the previous appeal of the monthly surprise now. Particularly when you end up with a back log of products that aren’t right for you.

This is where Latest in Beauty is different. Each month you choose exactly what you want to receive in your box from an extensive menu.

There are three tiers of subscription level.

  • Beauty Novice £9 for 3 products.
  • Beauty Enthusiast £15 for 6 products.
  • Beauty Guru £18 for 9 products.

All levels of subscription include postage.

I have the Beauty Guru subscription, this works out as £2 a product.

I’m really enjoying the service and see it as a cost effective way on getting my hands on the beauty products that I actually want to use.

The value of my picks for April is £84.09, that is a huge saving!

Here is what I chose.
Omorovicza Refining Facial Polish (worth £21.67)

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirdt Quenching Serum (worth 9.67)

St Tropez In Shower Tanning Lotion (worth £3.44).

I love this stuff! It took some getting used to when I first tried it out back in 2015 but I’m a pro now! I always add it to my beauty box when available. I have done a full review off this user friendly tanning lotion previously on the blog which you can check out here.

The White Company Mini Orange Grove Candle (worth £10)

I work very close to a branch of The White Company and love popping into smell all the candles. They are rather pricey though So I usually only treat myself to one at Christmas. Yup this was going right in my basket!

Nugg revitalizing face mask (worth £3.99)

Masque Bar Green Tea Sheet Mask (worth £3.33)

This is supposed to help with dark spots and pigmentation irregularities. I have a fair bit of scaring from recent breakouts so I’m hoping this will help.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Blue Streak (worth £6.99)

This is a great formula so I was happy to be able to grab another shade of this polish.

OGX weightless hydration coconut water shampoo & Conditioner duo (worth £5)
I’ve had my eye on this particular shampoo and conditioner for a while as I love anything with coconut in it. These handy travel sizes are a great way of trying it without committing to the full size product.

Lastly I nabbed another 111Skin Bio Cellulose Treatment Mask. (Worth £20)

This is something I will always add to my box as long as it is featured on Latest in Beauty’s Menu. For a single use mask it is so expensive. The trouble is the more I use one of the masks the more I love it.

This is another product I have previously reviewed on the blog. You can check that out here

Everything5pounds mini haul and review

So I am very late to the party with this one. It’s not that I hadn’t heard of this website before I just didn’t think I could possibly pick up  anything worth adding to my wardrobe for £5. Well how wrong was I? ….Very!

Anyway after seeing a short YouTube clip from moneysavingexpert after they had tried the website out, I was convinced it was time I took the plunge and made my first order.

I was expecting rubbish quality, unstylish clothing. This is not the case though. A large proportion of the items available are ex high street brands. Including stores such as Topshop, New Look and Zara. Some of the items are European brands that I haven’t heard of before. The quality though is still great.

None of the brands are listed on the website so it is a surprise once you receive it if you have picked a high street label. For me that is all part of the fun.

Usually everything on this website, as the name suggests, is just £5. You then pay for postage which is set by the size of your order. On this occasion I ordered four items. As I had a discount code which also offered free delivery I only paid £19 on this occasion. (I would share that but unfortunately it is no longer valid). Even without a discount code the savings you can get are amazing.

It is worth bearing in mind that quantities are limited so stock can sell out fast. If you see something you love don’t hang around or you will be disappointed.

This is what I purchased on this occasion. If an item is still available I will leave a link to it.

Bershka high waisted black skinny Jeans.

This is a brand I hadn’t heard of before. They have a great looking website though where similar jeans are currently retailing for approximately £20.

The fit of these are great and even though very tight are super comfy.

Washed Denim Skinny Jeans.

These again are another great fitting pair of jeans. The brand is not one I recognise and the label was printed in either Japanese or Chinese. They are perfect for me to wear to work though and totally worth more than the £5 price tag.

Feather Embellished Ankle Boot.

I can not get over the quality of these boots. They arrived boxed and with individual dust bags. They have a lovely soft cosy lining so are warm and comfortable . I have worn them to work and and received lots of compliments.

The brand Nio Nio is sold on this website and styles retail between £17-£29.

Lastly I ordered this Belted Striped midi Dress. The quality is not as good as the other items but I love the style and how it fits. I still feel I have picked up a bargain and am looking forward to wearing this in the summer.

I am not disappointed by any of the items I purchased and will definitely be placing an order in the future. I have my I my eye on this stunning red jumpsuit to wear for my birthday.

Size wise everything I ordered fitted well. It is definitely worth reading the reviews as a guide for which size to order. Some of the reviews also give clues as to which items are originally from a well known brand.

Have you purchased anything from everything5pounds before? What was your experience?

The Long Awaited Sephora Haulin’

I’m not really one to be doing haul posts, mainly because my shopping habits are shocking at times. Yes it would be embarrassing. I’m breaking the norm here though as I have waited so freekin long to get inside a Sephora.

Why guys? Why do we not have any Stores in the UK?

I know you can order online but I’m not about to drop £75 for the minimum spend everytime I want to place an order. Consequently I don’t.

Finally inside an actual store I was like a child in a toy shop dashing here and there, slightly overwhelmed by the array of makeup brands available that I can’t get my mits on easily at home.

Keen to make the most of my budget I opted for several value kits. I wanted to try as much of the different goodies as a could.

Here’s a my new stash in all it’s glory. Sigh…..Yes I know it’s shameful to get that excited over make-up. I can’t help it though!

Let me give you a little run down of what I picked up.

Josie Maran Whimsical Wonder Argan Oil Color Essentials set $34

I have had my eye on this little kit since it was released as I’ve wanted to try the brand for a long time. This seemed the perfect way to do it. Sephora claim this to have a $72 value so it is a big saving.

The next kit I picked up is the Sephora Favourites Give me Some lip collection £25.

Just take in that selection of lip products to try! Included are the brands MUFE, Tarte, Fresh, Kat Von De and Mark Jacobs.

These are all of a good luxury sample size and most importantly the shades are very wearable.

Tarte are one of my favourite cosmetic brands ever. The only place to buy it for in the UK is QVC, and then they will charge you a hefty postage fee. It was a given then that I was going to pick something up from the brand.

They had just had a delivery of the new holiday sets so I quickly nabbed  a blush pallete. Considering the individual blushers at $26 a peice it made sence then to get this containing 5 shades for $44.

Before I show you a pic of this inside just look at the packaging. It is so pretty , all sparkly and black and feels nice and weighty in the hand.

Inside the embossing on the individual shades are just too pretty. I know it sounds daft but it will take me a couple of weeks to bite the bullet and ruin it’s perfection by using it. Weird I know. Don’t judge me!

Next up I picked up a travel size of the Mist & Fix setting spray from Make Up Forever $14. This has been on my wish list for quite a while. I used this as my setting spray whilst in vegas and It did a fab job on helping my make up last all day.
My last purchase was this set of individual use face masks from Origins. I’m not sure how much this pack was, but you can get an individual one for $4

I’m this pack there are four pods of Out of Trouble which is for problem skin. Keep your eyes peeled over the coming weeks for a review as this is going to be my next #facemaskfriday feature product.

Lastly we move on to the freebies, with all that shopping I had collected a fair you BeautyInsider points.

Both the MUFA HD Powder  and Glamglow flashmud mask were 100 point perks. I was also yet to recieve my birthday gift so was able to get this aswell. I so pleased to have this as I love love love the Nars satin lippencils.

I was super spoilt as my Husband and treated me to this trip to Sephora. He knows how obsessed I am so big big THANK YOU!!

Have you tried any of these products? What were you thoughts? Do let me know in the comments below if there is anything that you would like me to review on Schoolrunbeauty.com.

Clothes mini haul – Primark & New look £2 bikini!!

Hi guys!

Today I met up with my little sis for some lunch and a wander around our local high street. That particular activity usually ends up with one, or both of us, spending way too much money. We are both terrible enablers!

Today though I managed to come across some amazing bargains. I couldn’t believe my luck with some of these finds so felt the need to share with you guys, you never know you may be able to come across some of these deals yourself.

First up we popped into New Look, as we are both looking for some inspiration to update our summer wardrobes. Whilst checking out the swimwear we noticed they had quite a large clearance rail with tonnes of mixed size bikini seperates, all at £1 each.

We have developed a strategy when it comes to searching this type of clearance.

1. Find all the bikini tops in you size. Don’t forget to check the actual labels as quite often like I found today the size does not correspond with the size on the hanger.

2. Pick out the ones you like.

3. Search for a close match in bottoms that are your size. They don’t need to be an exact match if you don’t mind working a mix n match look.

4. If like me your a bit if a pear shape then this is great as it’s usually odd sizes that are on clearance.

I was lucky to find 2 suitable bikinis, with the help from my sister. Yay!!

What do you think, I’m in love with both of these? They cost me £4 in total bargain!!! I can’t wait to go on holiday and wear these now.

Next up we headed into Primark, in order to look at shoes primarily. Do you remember I said I was after some pool slides? I did a inspiration post showing my top finds HERE

I found a great pair that only set me back £8, which is great when compared with some of the others I looked at.

The last item I picked up in Primark basically was me being naughty. I couldn’t say no to these joggers that were on sale at £3. Lately I just want a comfy waist band, so was beginning to look at bit of a mess. Well these have fulfilled the comfort factor, just with a bit more style.

There are some amazing bargains to be found on the high street at the moment it really is worth taking the time to have a bit of a rumage through the bargain rails.

Bye for now, Katy 🙂
