March Look Fantastic Beauty Box – First look

Today’s is an exciting day, the postman has brought me goodies, in the form of  the Look Fantastic beautybox. In the past I have tried glossybox, birchbox and you-beauty. This though has to be my favourite beauty box service, as it rarely disappoints. In my opinion It is so worth the £15 you pay for the service.

I’ll admit occasionally there is the odd product included that I’m a bit Meh about, but each month there are enough exciting goodies to keep me satisfied. This is the one box at the moment I feel I can’t miss out on, and find my self anxiously checking their website for the day I can pre-order my monthly box. Hmmm, maybe that’s a sign I need to get out more.

So anyway, back to this months box. What did it contain?

First up is a hairbrush from a brand I had not heard of before. This is the ‘wet brush squirts’ £11.99, a detangling brush designed with Inteliflex bristles that claim to effortlessly detangle hair and give your scalp a massage at the same time, sounds good.

This is the handy travel size version. I’m intrigued to see how I get on with this, as I shall be bringing this with me when I go away this weekend. I’m going  to a health spa for my birthday. My long hair has a tendency to get annoyingly tangled post swim so it will get thoroughly tested.

Next up is Nuxe Nuxellence detox, in a 15ml sample size. The full 50ml size is priced at an eye watering £47. My maths is poor but I estimate this is worth approximately £15.

This is an anti age treatment that is designed to recharge and detox the skin overnight. It claims to detox cells overnight leaving you with a youthful glow come morning. Big claims!  Nuxe is a brand I love so I expect good things from this.

The third item is a natural lip balm from the brand Cowshed worth £5. The name of the product did make me chuckle, it’s called ‘lippy cow’.

This contains essential oils including linden blossom, rose geranium and ylang ylang. This is also free from nasties such as Paraben, Sulphates, mineral oil or petroleum, and is also suitable for vegetarians.

I’ve  had a quick try of this and it feels lovely on the lips and does not taste funny. So first impressions are good. I’m a bit of a lip balm junky so pleased to have this. Weirdly I couldn’t find this for sale in Look fantastic but a quick google search found that it is actually currently on offer for £4 from Asos Here

The fourth item is a black eyeliner from Lord & Berry. The little enclosed leaflet says this is worth £10, but this is only a travel size so I’d say it’s actually worth about £5.

I have so many eyeliner pencils from beauty boxes, probably as they are an easy thing to include as a ‘one for all product’, so I’m a bit Meh about this. Having said that though I know I’ll use it.

This next product I’m super exited about, this is Bliss ‘fatgirlslim’. The full 170ml size of this is £29.50. Look fantastic have included a decent 60ml sized pot, worth £10.40.

This actually has a thinner gel like consistency, than I was expecting. I can’t say it has a fragrance really, which is a good thing, as you are supposed to use this morning and evening. No fragrances means it won’t interfere with your perfume, always a bonus.

The claimed benefits of this product are that it helps to firm the skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite, whilst providing a slimming effect. This does say it is not a weight or fat loss product, so I’m not expecting it to be a miracle worker, but if it can improve the texture of my thighs and back side I’ll be happy.

The last item is another full size product. This is the Nudestix magnetic colour eye shadow in the shade gilt, worth £24

I’m a huge fan of anything in pencil form, as they are great when you are in a hurry. I swatched this and the colour is really pretty, dried quickly and is not budging when I try to wipe it off. I have a good feeling about this one! This is another item I think I will be bringing away this weekend.

Swatches of both of the make-up items are below, they both look very pigmented, this is with one quick stroke each.

So there you go, that is everything included in this months Look fantastic box. Not every box has the Nuxe product in them, some have a Caudalie product instead. I put the value of this box at £71, well worth the £15 price point.

Will you be purchasing this months Look Fantastic box? If you have already did you get the Caudalie or the Nuxe item?

Bye for now, Katy 🙂
