Lush bunch of carrots reveiw – probably my most favourite ever lush product!

Hi guys!

Today I have for you a  rave reveiw of what is probably my most favourite lush product ever! Big claim, I know. This is the bunch of carrots bubble bar, priced at £5.95

Not only is the bunch of carrots bubble bar visually cute, but it smells AMAZING, creates loads of bubbles, and is also good value for money. Let me tell you more.

Bunch of carrots is different to a lot of Lush’s other bubble bars as it is reusable. Unlike the traditional bubble bar that you crumble under running water you can swirl this in, or just drop one carrot in the running water like I did, it will begin to dissolve and create tonnes of bubbles.

As you can see your bath will develop into a gorgeous fragranced, orange coloured bath, with loads of bubbles. A full bath used up half a carrot, so you are going to get six baths out of this. Not bad for £5.95, when you compare to price of some other bubble bars.

The fragrance as I said before is AMAZING!! This is thanks to the inclusion of buchu, lemon and grapefruit oils, it’s a very fruity uplifting fragrance, perfect for when you need something with a bit of feel good factor to it. This is definitely one for easing a grumpy day!

I discovered, by accident of course, you can also pretend to be Olaf, from Frozen, if the need should take you. Ha ha!

I shall be grabbing myself some back ups of this before Easter as it’s a limited edition product. I do not want to be without this one.

Have you used any othe the Lush Easter products yet? What are your fave’s?

Bye for now, Katy 🙂

Take 3 Beauty Samples – The Lush Edit

Hi guys! So I’m back again with another edition of ‘take 3 beauty samples’. This month is dedicated to Lush as I had a fair few samples kicking around that deserved to be given a whirl.

The three samples I picked to use were ‘yummy mummy shower gel’, ‘herbalism’ and ‘yummy mummy body conditioner’.

So what did I think?

Yummy Mummy Shower Gel – £4.75 for 100gms

The colour of this is gorgeous, it really reminds me of one of my favourite sweets Palma Violets.

This has a sweet floral scent to it thanks to the inclusion of tonka and geranium oil. I can’t say of heard of tonka before, as far as I was aware it was a brand of toy cars, that’s what you get for having boys, ha ha! Still I liked the smell of it and do actually want to get my hands on some before Mother’s Day. (I think it’s limited release for the occasion).

Herbalism – £6.75 for 100gms

I have to confess this is not the first time I’ve used this, but it’s a sample, so I’m not cheating I promise. I wanted to include this as I actually really like this, I was recommended it by my sister, and to begin with I thought she was mad. It’s such a unique product in texture, and I wasn’t overly fond of the smell. You take a small peice of the herbs and wet it, once rubbed in the palm of your hands it forms a creamy lather, but still retains the scrubby bits. It can be used on both the face and body.

First impressions aside, and after giving it a fair go though I will hold up my hands and admit I was wrong. I’ve actually grown to like the smell, for want of a better description, it smells clean. I have found it has really helped to reduce my breakouts, both on my face and back. Yuck sorry, over share!  Any way, I shall definately be purchasing this in the future.

Yummy Mummy Body Conditioner – £19.95 for 240gms

This is one of those hybrid shower gel/moisturisers. It’s smells soooo good and did leave my skin feeling nice.

The issue for me with this though is the price, it so freeking expensive. I have used other far cheaper body conditioners in the past that work just as well, so I can’t justify the expensive.

If you don’t mind the price tag though it smells Amazing!!

So that’s my first impressions of this months beauty samples.

Have you tried any of these items? Do you have any Lush recommendations?

Bye for now, Katy 🙂

Mini Beauty Haul – Lush & Superdrug

Hi guys! Today I thought I would share with you the bits and bobs I picked up whilst on  a little trip into town today. A couple of these things I needed others were just me being naughty and indulgent. I’m not going to feel guilty about it though as it’s my birthday shortly, so I’m going to consider it an early bday present to myself. (Ha! – Ok Katy whatever!)

So excuses put out there, what did I get?

First up I did a bit of a dash and grab in Lush. I picked up a ‘bunch of carrots’, this is a gorgeous smelling reusable bubble bar, I can’t wait to have a bath with these.

I also treated myself to a slice of ‘somewhere over the rainbow soap’. This is just so pretty and sparkly. My pictures just don’t do it justice.  I was one of those awkward customers and asked the assistant to cut me off a bit with pink in it. The pre-cut ones were blue, and the spoilt brat in me wanted pink. I asked nicely though, I promise.

After a coffee, I have a terrible coffee habit, I popped into Superdrug as there were some bits I actually needed to replace.

I’m a huge fan of spray moisturisers, they are a great time saver. As my current favourite one is about to run out and has now been discontinued – boo!! – I’m on the hunt for a replacement. I spotted this one from Palmers and decided to give this ago as I like the traditional palmers lotion formula but find the packaging a pain. This might be the ideal compromise, we shall see. This was on offer with 1/3 off priced £3.66

Secondly I am coming to the end of my dry shampoo, so needed a replacement. My hair has been a bit flat lately so I went for a volumising one. This one from Pantene was also on offer at half price £1.97, so I thought I would give that one a go.

The last item really was me being naughty, I do not need any more blushes. I saw this though and couldn’t resist picking one up to try.

This is a new blush from MUA Luxe called ‘whipped velvet blush’. This looks scary in the pan but swatches a very wearable blue toned pink. The texture is really light and fluffy, I can’t wait to give this a go. Priced at £3 this is very reasonable and there are four shades to choose from. Mine is called ‘Ritzy’.

Lastly I just wanted to share this picture of the bottom of my coffee, I was not expecting it, it really put a smile on my face.

How cute is that?  This was in a recently opened place called Muffin Break. Cheeky smile aside it was actually a very nice coffee, and I’m fussy, I used to be a barista.

What have you being buying lately? Have you tried any of these products?

Bye for now, Katy 🙂

Boxing Day sales Haul – Lush, Space NK & Illamasque

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/3b5/62110235/files/2015/01/img_2166.jpgIt’s not often I do haul posts, but I thought I would share with you the goodies that I picked up in the Boxing Day sales.

I was a lazy shopper this year and did all my shopping on line. I love a bargain but the thought of crowds of other shoppers really did not appeal to me. Instead I made myself a coffee (with my tassimo machine – costa at home, joy!) and curled up on the sofa with my laptop and a blanket. This was a far less stressful experience, other than the frustration of not being able to access the Lush website for hours.

Now all my purchases have arrived I decided it would be a good time to share with you what I got. I haven’t included links as unfortunately a lot of these items are sold out.

Space NK –

I have been eyeing up the Laura Mercier Artist palette for eyes & cheeks for a while. So I was delighted to see this in the Space NK sale at a huge 50% discount (£22.49). It didn’t take long for me to decide that this was a do. Unfortunately this has now sold out at this price.

I was also lucky enough to grab one of their gel lip colours in the shade temptation. I’m not sure what I’ve done with the invoice but I think this was around £8. This is a lovely deep plum shade and I am intrigued to see what the gel formula will be like.

Illamasque –

I was so restrained with the Illamasque sale, It was so tempting. In then end I was a good girl and settled for one of their powder eyeshadows in the shade Burst. This is a beautiful unique matte teal shade that I’m excited to have in my collection. I love these shadows, they are lovely and soft with great colour payoff.

Lush –

Like I said earlier, the lush website was being a royal pain. This was one of the sales that I had waited eagerly for though so persevered. I’m so glad I did.

First up I was lucky enough to get my hand on a little snow fairy gift set, priced £3.98. This contains a 100ml snow fairy shower gel and pink fun, two products I have really wanted to try.

I also picked up 3 bath bombs, a dashing Santa(1), cinders(2)and Sakura(3).’these were all 50% off. I’m looking forward to by Friday night relaxing bath already. Trouble is which one do I use first?

Lastly I picked up a very cute and lovely smelling little angel shimmer bar(4). It’s smells amazing so I can’t wait to use it.

Amazon –

This last item technically wasn’t in the sale but I had a gift voucher so decided to include it. I have read so many great reviews, about this product so have been lusting after ‘the balms – Mary-Loumanizer’ for what seems like forever. I didn’t think this was too badly priced either at £11.98. This included postage as I have an Amazon prime membership.

I am really pleased with what I picked up in the sales. If you want any detailed reviews on any of these items let me know. I’m a nosy little bugger and love this type of post so if you have done similar please link in comments and I would love to check your’s out to.

Bye for now, Katy
